Keeping busy in fandom as in real life...

I've gone to at least one meeting of all of my classes now, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the semester. On the whole, my classes seem willing to engage with me and with the material.  That's always a good sign.

But enough about that (and the hoard of first day activities I'm pointedly ignoring).  What's up with me in the fannish realm?

First of all, there's a Norrington Fic Fest going on over at raise_the_dead.  I've already put in some prompts, and I'm hoping the long Labor Day weekend leaves me enough time to write something for it. Hopefully it will be something light-hearted.  I mentally poked at one of the more depressing prompts someone else left and got a flood of images and ideas that were incredible downers.  And I don't want to write James!angst.  I want to write HAPPY Norrington, damn it all... so I'm going to.  Possibly fluff. So THERE, angsty plotbunny that I certainly did not store away for later. Take that.

I FINALLY got off my rear and joined Keep to the Code, which is something I should have done years ago.  Hurrah for copious amounts of speculation and theorizing about PotC! I see way too much time spent on these boards in my future...

The new round of hoodland starts in... four days! I've got a good feeling about Team Leather's chances this time. (What?  You thought I'd be Team Outlaws? Pshh.)

I've been having a blast at the capslock_hood rewatch chats these past two weeks.  I've never done the "watch and chat at the same time" thing, and though the logistics are a bit of a nightmare, it's incredibly fun. We mostly watch episodes where Guy takes his shirt off.  Or gets wet. Or tied to a tree.  Or any combination of the three. ;-)
