Good news, bad hilarious news.
Aug. 13th, 2011 10:09 pmSo we were just at the Northridge Borders with
ghettopeach and her boyfriend after a lovely dinner at a Peruvian place I love. On a happy note, they had a copy of The Diviner, which is a novel whose existence I was beginning to doubt. It takes place in the same world as The Golden Key, which is one of my favorite fantasy novels of all time, and for years Melanie Rawn has been promising that The Diviner was coming out... the cover art was released, and a date was set for it to hit shelves, and then nothing. This was all years ago, mind you... so when amazon suggested it to me a few days ago, I thought, "Whatever, amazon. Even if there's a release date, it's not actually going to happen. I've had my hopes dashed before." Then... I looked more closely at the release date, and realized it was in the past. And there was already a review. This... boded well for the book actually being available. And tonight, I finally found a Borders that had it in stock. My new reading priority? Re-read The Golden Key so that I can fully enjoy this book I've been waiting a good fifteen years for.
Also at the Borders was a Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides sticker book. I am in the habit of picking up PotC stuff aimed at kids and laughing (or griping, depending on my mood) about how little attention is given to my favorite characters.
Well, I... must admit that my expectations were wrong. Groves and Gillette were both in the sticker book.
I'll let you decide what's whether it would have been better if they had been absent.
What's wrong with this picture?
I'm going to go laugh some more... It's that or write snide, angry letters to the publisher.
