The week is over, and I'm looking at a weekend spent cleaning house, commenting on rough drafts, and doing some fairly structured obsessing over PotC.
I joined potc_land last week, and I'm having a blast. I've never been in a challenge community before, so everything is new a shiny and fun, and I've been reading fic, writing fic, voting for favorite icons like my opinions matter, and participating in challenges (like making princess versions of PotC characters at this website) and why did no one ever tell me how fun this is? Ok... so
lady_entropy17 might have mentioned something about it when she was in that SPN comm a while back...
Anyway, that is all. The new On Stranger Tides trailer is made of win, I have my tickets to the El Cap midnight showing, and May 20th can't come soon enough.
PotC Fic: Between Ship and Shore
Mar. 21st, 2011 04:25 pmTitle: Between Ship and Shore
Author: corrielle
Character: Jack
Summary: At the end of Dead Man's Chest, Jack Sparrow almost abandoned the Pearl. This is my explanation of why he came back.
Word Count: 359
Rating: PG
( Behind him, the safety of land grew closer with each stroke of the oars. )
So, there's a
potc_bigbang going on in anticipation of the 4th pirates movie, and I would love to participate. The minimum length is 10,000 words, which seems quite manageable.
Problem is, I haven't written a story in this fandom for so long, I've forgotten how. I need to go chasing inspiration. So, to get back into contact with the source material, I'm going to have a "watch all three movies" day some time in the near future (preferably before March 15th when author sign ups close). Anyone want to join me? I'm free Fridays and Saturdays (except for the 5th of March, which is reserved for a certain someone's birthday...), so let me know.
Also, anyone with plot bunnies or prompts... share! I need all the help I can get.

Note: Everything here is either a.) easily available elsewhere on the internet or b.) pure speculation on my part. Still, if you're trying to stay utterly spoiler free for the fourth movie, (or if you wish the whole franchise would just die already and stay dead....) I wouldn't suggest reading further.
( Here be the news that made my day. )
