I feel the way about music the way you do about drawing. I used to be good at it, I have all of my instruments here with me, but every time I think I ought to play, I think to myself, "It's going to sound SO much worse than it used to... why not spend my time writing or doing something I'm good at NOW?" For me, it's a combination of guilt at not having kept up the skill and laziness making me cringe at the amount of work I'd have to put in to get back up to where I'd want to be.
You are sweet to even think about trying... and I'd love to see what a non-fan made of any of these... (and I don't think you could make a mockery of the spirit of Robin Hood any more than the creators already did...)
Also, your line about PotC hitting your retinas made me giggle. That's... a good way to put it. It kind of hit my retinas too. With a 4X4.
