Rae and I got to see
hystericblue42 yesterday morning. We went to the Junkyard, which is one of my favorite restaurants here in town. They have fantastic, homey food and delicious skillet potatoes with bell peppers and onions. We talked about life, work, and fandom, and we gave her her first hit of crack for free watched the first episode of DA with her.
After she left, we got our hands on the most recent Downton Episode.
( Let's just say I feel like my soul has been put through a blender. )
With my soul feeling recently-pureed, perhaps it was good that
lynxgriffin came over for dinner. We ate at a good BBQ place, and she showed me some episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I had wondered how it was that so many adults could be so crazy about this kid's show. I don't wonder any more. It's smart, funny, and very, VERY pink. And the writers are incredible nerds. There's an episode that is, for all intents and purposes, "The Trouble With Tribbles." I'm still giggling about it.
And, finally,
vanilla_elf shared this link on her journal and I have to repost it...
Greg Ellis talks about filming OST, layers of period clothing, and what he thinks happened to Groves. Nothing like an interview with the actor who played one of my favorite characters in my favorites franchises to help me pick the pieces of my soul up off the floor.
Re-watching this interview with Allen Leech and Jessica Findlay doesn't hurt, either...
